Who is AVID?
AVID Legal Services, founded by Britannia Knight-Seucharan, is a leading sole practitioner paralegal practice in Durham Region, Ontario. We collaborate closely with other experienced paralegals and law firms in the area, some mentioned on this page. As licensed paralegals, we offer a range of legal services in compliance with the Law Society bylaws. Our expertise includes providing legal advice, negotiating on behalf of clients, and representing them in various legal proceedings, such as Small Claims Court, the Ontario Court of Justice for Provincial Offences Act matters, summary conviction courts under the Criminal Code (for sentences of six months or less), and before provincial or federal tribunals, including the Financial Services Commission of Ontario.

Bill Lashley retired from the Toronto Police Service and the Durham Regional Police Service. He has more than 30 years of policing experience.
Bill’s qualifications include:
- Breathalyzer technician Level 4 collision investigator
- Lead investigator of numerous fatal collisions
- Radar/laser speed measuring device operator and instructor
- Detective office and plainclothes experience
- Forensic Identification Unit in Toronto 2
Bill is now a licensed paralegal in Ontario. He works closely with AVID Legal Services and is an invaluable asset.
